LVC Companies Proud Sponsor of Minnesota Mine Safety Association Spring Safety Seminars

LVC’s Corey Kangas discussed heavy equipment fire suppression solutions with safety seminar attendees.

LVC Companies was a proud sponsor of the Minnesota Mine Safety Association’s (MMSA) annual Spring Safety Seminars. Held February 3-4, these dual events provided a wealth of information for safety officers, managers, and other personnel responsible for maintaining safe and healthy jobsites for workers in the mining and construction materials industry.

The MMSA’s annual seminars create a critical forum for sharing knowledge, reviewing best practices, and discussing emerging safety challenges. Topics included access and confined space safety, tire management strategies for mines and quarries, and mental health concerns in the construction trades.

Kicking off the day’s events, keynote speaker Kina Hart brought home the effect workplace accidents have on family and friends of the affected worker. Hart underscored the importance of jobsite safety with her harrowing story of surviving a horrific workplace accident—and its emotional toll on her loved ones.

LVC was honored to add to the curriculum. From our sponsor’s display, LVC Portables and Pre-Engineered Fire Suppression Systems Manager Corey Kangas discussed how heavy equipment fire suppression systems protect workers and machinery in the extreme environments of mining and construction.

Engineered for performance and reliability, these systems protect valuable heavy machinery, reduce downtime and, most importantly, safeguard heavy equipment operators and save lives. Partnering with industry-leading manufacturers like ANSUL and Amerex, LVC designs, installs, and maintains advanced fire protection solutions built to protect mobile industrial equipment in the harshest conditions. LVC also offers a full suite of portable fire extinguishers, hands-on live-fire training sessions, fire sprinkler systems, special hazard fire protection, first aid kits, and more.

Safety Strategies
LVC’s commitment to jobsite safety begins internally. Whether we’re installing, testing, or servicing fire alarms and life safety systems, security solutions, structured cabling networks, fire suppression systems, or other critical technologies, our technicians know safety comes first.

Our industry-acclaimed safety training programs include OSHA training programs, an automated online safety education platform, and an OSHA-approved AWAIR (A Workplace Accident and Injury Reduction) program that reinforces proactive risk reduction. Weekly Toolbox Talks further strengthen our safety culture by creating regular opportunities for teams to discuss real-world scenarios, share insights, and align on best practices.

These efforts have helped us earn Minnesota Safety Council Workplace Safety Awards 15 times since 2007, the NECA Safety Excellence Award, and NECA Zero Injury Award, among other accolades. Such recognition doesn’t just reflect what we do. It reflects who we are. Supporting jobsite- and public safety-oriented associations like the MMSA, National Fire Protection Association, and others is a natural extension of these efforts.
